…the best I’ve had in my 55 years.
I’m from Tampa and grew up on Cuban/American food. After moving north I’ve struggled to find a true Tampa Cuban. We visited Havana’s while in St. Louis. The beef empanada was the best I’ve had in my 55 years. The Cuban sandwich was very good and placated my yearning. If I had to find a complaint I’d say the meat ratio was a little off. I think it would be better if there was less lechon asado and more ham. Cuban sandwiches are best when the meat ratio is just right. I’d still give this one a 9 out of 10, this is me nitpicking. I can’t wait to come back.
…the customer service was excellent.
The Cuban sandwich was tender and encased in a crunchy yet buttery bread. You could taste a hint of mustard which added a tang. The portion size was enough to satisfy two people. Although I arrived 15 minutes before closing, the customer service was excellent. Specifically, the cashier gave us an extra side of sauce, a free sample of guava and cream cheese pastry, and even a complimentary bottle of water.
I can say this place is not only delicious in food; it’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
As someone who had been to Havana a couple times, and absolutely am in love with Cuba. (I cry every time I leave) I can say this place is not only delicious in food; it’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL to know the struggles of Cuba by going and seeing the island and coming home and seeing Cubans having the American dream. No lie though the food is really good here, and the owner is super warm. Her eyes lit up to know I went to Cuba. I love Cuba very much so even when she leaves the downtown region I will drive to have the comforts of Cuba from home. God bless America for providing people the opportunity to thrive!
Amazing Cuban food (Better than Miami)!
Amazing Cuban food (Better than Miami)!
This place has it all! Cubanos, maduros, empanada, flan! I was in Little Havana in Miami last week and the Cuban sandwich I had here in St. Louis was so.much.better! The service was exceptional and food was hot and tasty.
They are moving to Central West End (CWE) soon, so you should definitely check them out and show them your Latino love and support!
